Common faults prone to electric wheelchairs

With an electric wheelchair, daily activities such as grocery shopping, cooking, ventilation, etc. can be considered to be done by yourself, and one person can basically do it with an electric wheelchair. So, what are the common faults of electric wheelchairs, and how to deal with them?

Compared with traditional wheelchairs, the powerful functions of electric wheelchairs are not only suitable for the elderly and frail, but also suitable for severely disabled patients. Stability, long-lasting power, and speed adjustability are the unique advantages of electric wheelchairs. The failures of electric wheelchairs mainly include battery failures, brake failures and tire failures:

1. Battery: The problem that the battery is relatively easy to appear is that it cannot be charged and is not durable after charging. First, if the battery cannot be charged, check whether the charger is normal, and then check the fuse. Small problems basically appear in these two places. Secondly, the battery is not durable after charging, and the battery is also worn out during normal use, which everyone should know; the battery life will gradually weaken over time, which is normal battery loss; if it suddenly appears Endurance problems are generally caused by excessive discharge. Therefore, during the use of the electric wheelchair, the battery should be diligently maintained.

2. Braking: The reason why the brakes often have problems is caused by the clutch and the rocker. Every time before traveling with an electric wheelchair, check whether the clutch is in the “gear ON” position, and then check whether the rocker of the controller bounces back to the middle position. If it is not for these two reasons, it is necessary to consider whether the clutch or the controller is damaged. At this time, it must be repaired in time. Do not use the electric wheelchair when the brake is damaged.

3. Tires: The most common problem with tires is piercing. At this time, you need to inflate the tire first. When inflating, you must refer to the recommended tire pressure on the tire surface, and then feel whether the tire is firm when you pinch it off. If it feels soft or your fingers can press it in, it may be an air leak or a hole in the inner tube.
