Every electric wheelchair must be equipped with a charger. Different brands of electric wheelchairs are often equipped with different chargers, and different chargers have different functions and characteristics. The electric wheelchair smart charger is not what we call a charger that can store power for mobile use after charging. The electric wheelchair smart charger refers to a charger device that can automatically cut off power after the device is fully charged.
Most of today’s chargers will continue to provide power after our devices are fully charged, which will cause electrical devices to be easily overcharged, exploded and damaged.
When charging the electric wheelchair, the charger will generate heat, and the battery will also generate heat. A good ventilation environment should be selected. If the ventilation conditions are too poor, short circuit combustion may occur due to overheating. When charging an electric wheelchair, the charger should be placed at the footrest, and it is strictly prohibited to cover it with objects or place it on the seat cushion. The charging time of an electric wheelchair is 6-8 hours. Do not charge the electric vehicle for a long time, especially in hot summer weather. Charging for a long time will make it difficult for the charger to dissipate heat and cause combustion. When charging an electric wheelchair, the power cord is lengthened at will and often pulled around. The connectors become loose, the circuits age, and the rubber on the wires is damaged and short-circuited, causing fires.
Will an electric wheelchair explode if it takes too long to charge? How can we “nip problems before they burn”?
Electric wheelchairs, chargers and batteries of qualified quality produced by manufacturers that have obtained production licenses should be purchased and used, and electric wheelchairs and accessories must not be modified in violation of regulations.
Electric wheelchairs should be parked in designated areas and must not be parked in stairwells, evacuation passages, safety exits, or occupy fire truck passages. Do not purchase and use non-standard or over-standard electric wheelchairs, and do not use non-original chargers to charge the electric wheelchair. Do not use unauthorized wiring to charge electric wheelchairs, especially in basements or corridors. Avoid charging immediately after driving in high temperatures. If the electric wheelchair is not used for a long time, it should be fully charged before being left alone, and the main circuit switch should be turned off.
